committed a misconduct. The Committee shall also have power to suspend from
membership any member under inquiry for the duration of the inquiry until a decision is
reached by the Board of Directors or sooner, as the Committee may decide upon in its
absolute discretion.
(ii)
A misconduct shall be deemed to include any failure by a member to discharge his
liabilities or obligations to the Society under these By-laws and/or the regulations or ~ny
agreement made thereunder or any responsibility for any act or omission detrimental to
the good name or the interest of the Society.
(iii)
(a) The Committee of Discipline shall comprise a Chairman and not less than four and
not more than six members, one of whom, shall be the Secretary to the Committee
of Discipline.
(b) The Chairman shall be appointed from among the members of the Board of
Directors.
(c) One member shall be appointed from among the representatives of Ordinary
Members.
(d) The other members of the Committee shall be appointed by the Board of Directors
from among the Directors, members of the Society or members of the management
of the Society.
(iv)
(a) The Committee of Discipline shall have power to appoint such sub-committees of
such number of persons to conduct such proceedings as the Board of Directors shall
decide upon in relation to the Ordinary Members of the Society.
(b) A sub-committee shall have all the power of the Committee of Discipline except
that it shall not inquire into any D;lisconduct which may warrant expulsion from the
membership on any misconduct unde.r its inquiry.
(c) The Chairman of a sub-committee shall be a member of the Committee of
Discipline.
(v)
(a) The term of office of the Committee of Discipline may not extend beyond that of
the appointing Board of Directors, subject to sooner vacation of office from any
cause whatsoever.
(b) The term of office of a su~-committee may not extend beyond that of the appointing
Committee, subject to sooner vacation of office from any cause whatsoever.
(vi)
(a) Decision shall be reached on any matter before the Committee of Discipline or a
sub-committee thereof by a simple majority of the members present and voting,
provided there is due quorum of one half of the total number of members thereof.
