With effect from 7 July 2008, the following car-sharing sites will be closed due to low utilization:

1. Changi Airport
   

2. Punggol - Riviera
   

3. Sengkang - Tongkang
   

4. Dover Ville

This is part of our on-going rationalisation effort so that cars are re-deploy to sites that have higher utilisation and are popular. This will improve the availability factor at popular car pick-up sites.

With effect from 1 June 2008, all accidents MUST be reported to us through IDAC within 24 hours or by the next working day of the accident.

Members MUST also advise our Contact Centre at 6788 8788 immediately of the accident and where they will be bring the car for reporting.

DO NOT allow the vehicle to be taken away to any other workshop or sign any agreement given by an unauthorized tow truck operator. DO NOT do any private settlement with any third party.

The above procedure, known as the Motor Claims Framework, is an industry wide initiative aimed at handling motor accidents esp third party claims.

Increases In Petrol Surcharge

Our current rental rates were formulated in 1997, using petrol prices then as a basis. Since then, petrol prices have more than doubled, and we have not revised our base rates, except to introduce an hourly petrol surcharge to mitigate the rising prices. Recent increases have necessitated the co-op to  increase our surcharge to 85 cents an hour from 70 cents, with effect from 1 June 2008. This increase will not fully cover the increase in petrol prices but will help us to mitigate the rising costs. We thank you for your understanding.

With effect from 1 June 08. The following road site assistance fee will be applicable for assistance required by members from our technical staff:

• $30 office hr assistance
• $50 after office hr assistance 

This fee will be waived should the problem be due to no fault of members.
 

A cost of $10 will be imposed with immediate effect to cover administrative duties provided by Car Co-Op for parking/traffic offence committed by members.  Members are advised to make payment for the parking/traffic offence as soon as possible upon receiving them. 

Car Co-Op Server Maintenance

Car Co-Op will be shutting down it's server for maintenance on 26 April 08 from 11pm to 7am. Members are advised to make advance reservation for the cars. Inconvenience caused regretted.
 

Advance Warning System (AWS)

Car Co-Op has fitted some of the cars in the eastern zone with the Advance Warning System for trial till July 08. This system will detect abrupt lane change without signalling or distant between vehicle is too close and give a warning sound. Members are advised not to be alarmed. We welcome member's feedback during this trial period. 
 

Changes in half-yearly membership renewal period

With effect from 1 April 08, the half-yearly membership renewal period will be aligned to be from January - June and July - December. Membership that expire on January/February will be renewed till June. Membership that expire on March/April/May period will be renewed till December.

With this arrangement, members will find it easier to remember their memberships expiry period.
