Lower Fuel Surcharge We are pleased to announce a reduction in the fuel surcharges effective from 1 August 2008. The last change to the fuel surcharges was on 1 July 2008 when the petrol and diesel pump prices at ExxonMobil stations for Octane 95 and diesel hit $2.186 and $1.993 per litre respectively. The few weeks following 1 July 2008, the pump prices continued to go up but the Car Co-Op elected to absorb the increases.

NOTICECleaning and routine maintenance of Co-Op cars Please be informed that we have ceased the services of the cleaning contractor with effect from 21 July 08 due to unsatisfactory performance. The management is reviewing alternate arrangement for the car cleaning. In the interim, our maintenance team shall cover the responsibility on a temporary basis. We seek member's assistance and cooperation to upkeep the car cleanliness by removing any litters that was bought into the car. Members can also help out by sending dirty car for a machine carwash if they can. In return for the effort, the member will enjoy a 1-hour usage discount from his/her confirmed reservation period on production of a carwash receipt. However, no further reimbursement of the carwash fee is allowed. Please scan and send the carwash receipt by email to feedback@carcoop.com.sg with the "member's ID", "Car No." and "date washed". Alternatively you may fax the receipt to us at 6587 0542. Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Increases In Petrol Surcharge Our current rental rates were formulated in 1997, using petrol prices then as a basis. Since then, petrol prices have more than doubled, and we have not revised our base rates, except to introduce an hourly petrol surcharge to mitigate the rising prices. Recent increases have necessitated the co-op to increase our surcharge to 85 cents an hour from 70 cents, with effect from 1 June 2008. This increase will not fully cover the increase in petrol prices but will help us to mitigate the rising costs. We thank you for your understanding.

Advance Warning System (AWS)
Car Co-Op has fitted some of the cars in the eastern zone with the
Advance Warning System for trial till July 08. This system will detect
abrupt lane change without signalling or distant between vehicle is too
close and give a warning sound. Members are advised not to be alarmed. We
welcome member's feedback during this trial period. |

Changes in half-yearly membership renewal period With effect from 1 April 08, the half-yearly membership renewal period will be aligned to be from January - June and July - December. Membership that expire on January/February will be renewed till June. Membership that expire on March/April/May period will be renewed till December.
With this arrangement, members will find it easier to remember their
memberships expiry period. |

From April 2007, the membership renewals will occur half-yearly instead of
every quarter after the first year of membership. Membership renewals in advance occur every
half-yearly after the first year of membership at $60 (subject to change).
The renewal quarters are April to September and October to March. For the first half-yearly membership renewal, the member may be billed for part of the membership renewal if their renewal period do not coincide with the above-mentioned quarterly periods. For example, a member with a first year membership ending on 15 Mar will be billed 3.5 months at $35 for membership fee from 16 Mar to 30 June. Subject to applicable GST.
